My Approach

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you aren't sure anyone will fully understand where you're coming from. My goal is to make our work together feel safe, respectful and focused on what matters most to you.

I offer culturally responsive, client-centered care. I want to understand your story in the context of your family, culture, community and life experiences. I'm especially interested in working with immigrant individuals and families, and with clients who would feel more comfortable in Mandarin. Moving between cultures, generations and languages can bring real stress and real strengths, and I want therapy to make room for both.

I work with children, adolescents, adults and families. With younger clients, I use creative, age-appropriate approaches such as play, art and activities, along with talking, so they can express what's hard to put into words. With teens and adults, I focus on building trust, finding practical tools and drawing on the strengths you already have.

At Renton Counseling Center, I regularly ask clients for feedback on how therapy is going. That way we can adjust together and make sure our work is actually helping.
