My Approach

I provide a warm, healing environment where you can safely explore your feelings, values, purpose, and seek deeper meaning in life.  Therapy can be a journey that offers profound gifts of authenticity, growth, connection and healing, both personal and relational.  I believe everyone has the right to receive the support and hope that a trusting collaborative partnership between a therapist and a client offers.  Together we will relieve burdens you may carry, recognize the roots of criticism and thoughts of inadequacy, and gain a greater understanding of yourself and your experiences using a curious, compassionate, and accepting approach.  We will meet resistance and any other unexpected visitors, receive their messages, learn new perspectives, and invite communication with the parts of ourselves and others we may have exiled long ago.  I believe that through developing a relationship with all parts of our self we can achieve harmony and balance.  I promise to remain centered and open-hearted and to respect you and your goals throughout the process.

I look to hold an affirmative and positive space as I work with adult clients of many ages and ethnicities.  You may also have additional diverse or complex identities and backgrounds, such as neurodivergence or other disabilities, differing romantic and gender orientations, LGBTQIAP+, Asexual/Ace Spec, Poly, or Queer.  Everyone identifies in their own unique way and I will work to meet you where you are with what is most important to you.  My training in Internal Family Systems, Narrative, Nonviolent Communication, and Attachment and Polyvagal theories, with optional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, will provide you with whatever you are looking for.  Be it coping and communication skills, a place to express emotions and process trauma, or simply a safe space to talk or vent, I’m here for you.

“This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.”
